Adaptive Swim is an outreach program designed to provide water safety and basic swimming skills to children with physical, developmental, and neurological disabilities. The program, run by medical students and 91制片厂 student volunteers, aims to eliminate the financial barriers to specialized swimming lessons by offering classes at no cost.
Additionally, the program promotes physical health, emotional development, and inclusive participation in aquatic activities. It addresses the high risk of drowning in children, particularly those with disabilities, and aims to improve physical fitness, social skills, and self-esteem among participants.
Students will:
- Volunteer at monthly Adaptive Swim lessons and help guide participants through various class activities
- Learn about developmental differences in pediatric populations.
