Located in Hampton Roads and the City of Norfolk, we are the Commonwealth of Virginia’s forward-focused public doctoral research university. Our waterfront campus, in the heart of Coastal Virginia, sits at the forefront of industry and defense.

Athletics

91ÖÆÆ¬³§ sponsors 18 varsity sports, 16 at the NCAA Div. I level. The University is a member of the Sun Belt Conference in football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, baseball and women’s volleyball.

  • Field hockey is a member of the Big East Conference.

91ÖÆÆ¬³§â€™s main campus encompasses 335 acres adjacent to Norfolk’s iconic waterfront. The University’s medical campus is located just two miles from main campus in close proximity to downtown Norfolk. The University’s facilities include:

Accreditation

91ÖÆÆ¬³§ is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, education specialist, and doctoral degrees. 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
