Patient Solidarity Week, held annually around Valentine's Day, is a special time for U.S. medical campuses to celebrate patients and clinicians and the unique bond of trust and compassion that yields the best care. The Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Eastern Virginia Medical School at 91制片厂 chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society will host several recognition events Feb. 10-14:
- Patient Solidarity Week Donation Drive: Now through Feb. 14 鈥 Benefitting families staying at the Norfolk Ronald McDonald House while their children receive treatment at CHKD. Donations may be dropped off at the front entrances of Waitzer, Lewis and Lester Halls Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. A donation wish list is posted on plasmas throughout 91制片厂's Eastern Virginia Medical School campus. - 鈥淭ell Me More鈥 Initiative: Monday, Feb. 10, 5 to 7 p.m. 鈥 Student volunteers will assist patients in completing 鈥淭ell Me More鈥 questionnaires to foster more personal conversations between healthcare workers and patients. .
- Waiting Room Refreshments & Activity Sheets: Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Thursday, Feb. 13, Noon to 2 p.m. 鈥 Student volunteers will visit hospital waiting areas to distribute healthy snacks and activity sheets to visitors and their families. Volunteer or .

- Valentine鈥檚 Day Carnations & Encouragement: Friday, Feb. 14, Noon to 2 p.m. 鈥 Student volunteers will distribute a note of support and a carnation to patients at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. .
