Application Process

The Complex Benign Gynecology Fellowship is accredited by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and recruits one fellow per year.

Our fellowship participates in the . Match Day is September 23, 2026.

Applications for 2027 Complex Benign Gynecology (CBG) Fellowship positions will be submitted through and must be completed by May 1, 2026.​

Invitations for interviews are sent in the spring. Interviews are scheduled from July to September. Fellowship training starts August 1.

Applicants must have:

  • Received their MD or DO degree from a program accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association
  • Attended an ACGME-accredited residency program
  • Graduates of medical schools outside of the U.S. or Canada must hold a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate.

Applicants must include the following materials with their application:

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Letter(s) of recommendation
  • Personal statement
  • United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) scores
  • ECFMG report (if applicable)
  • Transcripts
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPE)
  • Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) in-house scores

The selection process is based on the following:

  • Personal interviews with department faculty
  • Letter(s) of recommendation
  • USMLE scores
  • Candidate's interest in complex benign gynecologic surgery
  • Candidate's clinical and research interests
  • Honors, awards, accomplishments, achievements, experience
