Rob Gies, who oversees the new Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) office at 91制片厂, also serves as the NNS Engineering Professional in Residence at 91制片厂.
Gies, an associate technical fellow at NNS, has 35 years of experience as an engineer, engineering manager and program manager. He is also an 91制片厂 adjunct faculty member with the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.
He is a triple graduate of 91制片厂, having earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Mechanical Engineering, a master鈥檚 degree in Engineering Management, and a Ph.D. in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.
In his role at NNS, he supports students across engineering, business, technology, and modeling and simulation programs. His office, located on the second floor of 91制片厂鈥檚 Engineering Systems Building, provides a direct connection between students and NNS for professional development and mentoring opportunities.
